PROJECT BACKYARD THANKSGIVING

“FREE COMMUNITY THANKSGIVING DAY MEAL”

Over the last 17 years, Community Transformation, Inc. (CTI) & Word Doers Ministries have been able to serve over 15,000 meals to those in need in Thomasville and Thomas County on Thanksgiving. For the last seven years, Project Backyard has partnered with CTI & Word Doers to serve and distribute more than 12,000 of those meals.

Like last year, we will be delivering meals, as well as providing a “sit-down” option for people to come have a meal with us at the THS cafeteria. We will also be offering a winter clothes closet and giving away over 400 boxes of food. We are expecting to deliver and serve over 1600 meals, but we can't do it without your help! There are a number of ways that you can serve, including the kitchen team, food plater team, delivery prep team, delivery driver team, desert team, prayer/evangelism team, and more.

COME SERVE WITH US ON THANKSGIVING DAY!

If you are looking for a way to give back and serve on Thanksgiving Day, we would love for you to come and volunteer with us! Like last year, we are planning to prepare and deliver over 1600+ hot meals across the city, but we can’t do it without your help.

There are a number of ways that you can serve, including the kitchen team, food plater team, delivery prep team, delivery driver team, desert team, prayer/evangelism team, table servers team, and more! It is so important in these days that we step out in faith to show the love of Jesus to those who need it most. Sign up to volunteer by clicking the link below and filling out our volunteer form:

(NOTE: After you sign up, you should receive two automated emails: The first confirms that you signed up. The second includes important details for you to know. If you signed up after 5pm on November 21st, your name might not be on the volunteer check-in sheet when you arrive. That is ok. Just let them know what position you sign up for, and they will give you further instructions. We do ask that you please be flexible with your preference and be willing to serve wherever is needed at that time. Thanks!)

WINTER Clothes DONATIONS:

This year as part of our Thanksgiving Day Event, we will be offering a winter clothes giveaway to the community, so if you have any winter coats, sweaters, sweatshirts, blankets, pants, etc...we would love to take them off your hands to give them away to those who need them most. If you want to donate winter clothes, please bring them to the Thomasville High School Cafeteria on Wednesday, November 22nd between 5pm-8pm.
