WHAT IS JUNETEENTH?:

"Juneteenth" is an American holiday that commemorates the June 19, 1865 announcement of the abolition of slavery in the U.S. Our goal is to educate people about African American freedom and achievements while encouraging continuous self-development and respect for all cultures. The purpose of this celebration is to create unity in the community, as well as to break pre-judgmental barriers about the origins of the African Americans path to freedom.
